Our Mission Statement

"Save Diggle Action Group exists to resist the move of Saddleworth School to Diggle and to work to keep the proposed new school on the existing site in Uppermill."

Who we are

We are a group of concerned Saddleworth residents that have come together after Councillor Mike Buckley, of the Saddleworth Parish Council, sent a letter to the editor of the Diggle News calling for the proposals from Oldham Council and the Education Funding Agency (EFA) to build a new Saddleworth School in Diggle be abandoned, in favour of rebuilding on the existing site in Uppermill.

Shortly afterwards a group of concerned residents formed the Save Diggle Action Group.

We accept that the existing Saddleworth School is no longer adequate, but the proposal to rebuild in Diggle is not the best long term solution.
